You’ve come up with your idea. You’ve mapped it out and you’ve even cracked the first 25 pages or so. Now you just have to keep yourself motivated and inspired. You have the energy to write the next 25 pages. Maybe you can even see your way to the first 100. But only now does it dawn on you just how much more needs to be done.

Morgan In Hospital

By now you’ve probably heard the news. Morgan Freeman was in a car accident Sunday night and is in serious condition in hospital.
He is talking, which is an excellent sign. I know his team at Revelations are in shock and Lori is on a plane right now to go see him.

Rendezvous with Rama – latest
Last Updated on Sunday, 31 August 2008 09:04 Written by stelpavlou Wednesday, 26 March 2008 06:30
Good Friday, and I delivered my final draft of the Rendezvous with Rama screenplay for Morgan Freeman and David Fincher. It was a bittersweet week. As those of you who follow what I’m up to on Myspace and Facebook can atest to. With Sir Arthur C. Clarke passing away literally about the time I was doing the last spellcheck, it was very sad that he didn’t get to read what I’d done with his story. It turns out he’d been enquiring about the progress of the new screenplay only a few weeks before. So what now? Well bizarrely, I never did meet Fincher throughout the process, but I did meet with Morgan several times, a sheer joy to work with. I assume he’ll be reading what I’ve done but I don’t really know. My job is done, my contract has been executed and it’s up to others to decide whether this is the script they want to go with or whether their ten year/seven writer epic soldiers on in search of another perspective. It’s been a terrific opportunity, for which I’m truly grateful. I can’t wait to see how the film turns out. But it’s now time to play with my own universes for a while.
